Photographer Logo Design

Introduction

The Project

Alex T, an up and coming photographer known for his exceptional creativity and unique visual storytelling in the automotive scene in Montreal, was looking for a distinctive and memorable logo to elevate his brand identity. The objective of this logo design project is to encapsulate the essence of Alex T's photographic style, professionalism, and artistic flair in a simple and memorable logo.

The Challenge

The logo had to be simple and easy to scale both down and up while still maintaining legibility. The logo also had to be versatile enough to be used on a variety of mediums including business cards, websites, and social media platforms.

The Solution

The final product is a simple and elegant logo that combines Alex T's initials. The logo is designed to be easily recognizable and memorable, with a modern and professional look that reflects Alex T's unique style and creativity.

Design Process

Initial conversations and requirements

The design process began with research into what Alex's style was and what he wanted to portray with his logo. After a meeting with the client it was clear that the logo needed to be professional and timeless much like the cars he often shoots. This initial conversation about needs was a guiding force thorughout the project.

Naming

Naming was strightforward as the client wanted to use his name as the brand name. The client also wanted to use the word photography in the name to make it clear what the brand is about while also wanting to use a simple and clean font to make it easy to read and remember. After some discussion with the client this lead to shortening the name to AT Photography in order to keep the naming simple while also still embodying who he is as a professional.

Sketches

The preliminary sketches were essential to figure out what direction to take the logo as "timeless" and "professional" are wide terms that could mean drastically different things to different people.

Final Logo

Two revisions of the packaging were made. The initial green version of the packaging was more visual varied but lacked the pop that was seen in the research. this was remedied in the second revision with a a bigger focus on using the reds and yellows to stand out more on shelves. Both designs can be printed with any printer but benefit from more accurate colors on higher end printers.
